Unraveled Network: Beyond Good Intentions will help us address the fear and discomfort that confronting systemic racism creates in traditionally white-led organizations, and the role it plays in propagating closed networks. How do we open up our networks, acknowledge the existence of white supremacy, and build new, equitable connections? What are the intentional and practical changes we can embrace to be more mindful of our network-building practices? This conversation will involve sharing and listening at a deep level.

Nancy Cassutt is a seasoned media professional with extensive experience in news management and digital media. Currently, she’s the executive director for MPR News and programming.

Nancy has served in multiple roles in her nearly six-year tenure at Minnesota Public Radio | American Public Media, most recently as managing director, content initiatives, leading the development of a regional water and health initiative with the goal of creating impact storytelling for and with the broader community. She joined MPR in 2010 as managing director for digital services, overseeing the national digital team and working with content partners on the launch of several national programming websites. After that, she spent two years on the business side of the organization, leading American Public Media’s national distribution team, which gave her deep experience working with public radio stations across the country.

Kaywin Feldman has been the Duncan and Nivin MacMillan Director and President of the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) since 2008. Feldman oversees the museum’s staff of 250, its fine-art collection of over 89,000 objects, its 473,000- square-foot facility, and an annual operating budget of $32 million. She serves on the boards of National Arts Strategies (NAS), the Chipstone Foundation, and the American Alliance of Museums (AAM), and is a member of the Bizot Group. Feldman is a past president of the Association of Art Museum Directors (AAMD), and a past chair of AAM.

Mr. King has served as president and CEO at Summit Academy OIC since 1996. Mr. King served on the Minneapolis School Board from 1996 to 2000. He is currently on the Fairview Medical Foundation Advisory Board and the St. Thomas Academy Board and chairs the Seed Academy Board of Directors and the Network for Better Futures Board of Directors. Mr. King has participated in two White House Conferences on Children and Families and works as a consultant in the area of nonprofit management systems development. He has held leadership positions in several community organizations, such as the Bryant Neighborhood Organization and the Glenwood-Lyndale Community Center, where he was president of their respective boards. Mr. King served in the U.S. Army for ten years, achieving the rank of Major. He is a graduate of Morehouse College in Georgia.

Euan Kerr has worked at MPR since 1985 as a reporter, editor, and occasional host. Born in Glasgow Scotland, he moved to the US in 1983 to study at the University of Minnesota. Starting as a legal affairs research assistant he moved on to becoming the MPR Minneapolis City Hall reporter. In 1990 he returned to Scotland to work for the BBC, covering the resignation of Margret Thatcher, among many other stories. He moved back to St Paul in 1992, and became the news director of KFAI Fresh Air Radio in Minneapolis. MPR then lured him back in late 1993, where started off covering the arts, but shortly after he moved to the editors desk, specializing in outstate coverage and the arts in general. In recent years he has focused on the arts, now functioning as a correspondent. He is co-host with Stephanie Curtis of the popular Cube Critics segment Fridays on All Things Considered.

Jamie Millard is executive director of Pollen, a nonprofit that breaks down the barriers of narrative, networking, and opportunity to build better connected communities.

Jamie has been identified as a “2015 40 Under 40” by the Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal, as a “100 People to Know in 2015” by the Twin Cities Business Magazine. Nationally, Jamie was recognized in the Huffington Post as one of four millennial leaders, “doing important work to move us toward a more just and equitable society.” In addition to her dream job, Jamie serves on a GREATER MSP task force to address the retention and attraction of emerging talent in our region. She is also a current member and former board chair of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network — Twin Cities. In 2009, Jamie co-founded the literary arts magazine Paper Darts, which is now a premier Twin Cities literary institution and has published more than 700 writers and artists.

Bo immigrated to the United States as a refugee after the Vietnam War and her lived experiences have driven her to continuously develop community-centered, asset-based approaches that ensure communities are fully able to participate in, contribute to, and shape our democracy. Bo currently serves as the network director for the Coalition of Asian American Leaders (CAAL) and is the chief operating officer for RedGreen River™. Bo also serves as a commissioner to the White House Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Bo’s extensive community building experiences include serving as executive director of Hmong National Development, senior project manager for the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, and executive director of the Women’s Association of Hmong and Lao. Bo co-founded Hmong Women Achieving Together, Sisterhood Laos, and the Building More Philanthropy with Purpose Giving Circles.
