Minnesota Public Health Association (MPHA) 2023 Annual Conference
Minnesota Public Health Association (MPHA)

The Minnesota Public Health Association (MPHA)’s 2023 Annual Conference will be held May 22-23, 2023 in-person at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. The conference runs for two half days: Monday, May 22 from 12:30 – 6:00 pm and Tuesday, May 23 from 7:30 am – 1:00 pm.

A virtual component for attendees to view keynote, plenary, and concurrent sessions is available. Presenters will be in person; the poster symposium will consist of live poster presentations and some virtual pre-recorded posters. Virtual participation links will be emailed to virtual attendees prior to the conference. Continuing education credits are available for CHES/MCHES, CPH, Nursing, general.

The MPHA annual meeting gathers public health professionals at every level – students, mid-career professionals, retired experts – from around the state to exchange information and create a healthier Minnesota through effective public health practice and engaged citizens. The conference theme “Raising the Public’s Health: Becoming Better Ancestors through History, Hope, and Action” will examine how public health professionals are acting on some of the most urgent challenges of our time. We are here because of our ancestors’ thoughtful planning and efforts to increase our opportunities for healthier lives. As public health encompasses nearly every part of our communities, it is our charge to ensure future generations will be stronger because of what we are doing now.

Plenary speakers include Lori New Breast (Blackfeet/Pikuni), Dr. Tracie Newman, Dr. Gwen Wagstrom Halaas, and former commissioner of health Jan Malcolm. Twelve concurrent presentations on the conference focus areas, a poster symposium, exhibitor and networking time round out the learning. Individuals can register on the MPHA website.
