EVENT DESCRIPTION
Storytelling that changes people’s hearts is what this country needs most in this current moment. Homogenous teams dominate the industry from design to media, stifling creativity and perpetuating harmful ideologies. In a world saturated with harmful narratives seeped in white supremacy, Pollen’s storytelling — whether online, in print or live on stage — has always been a testament to the transformative power of BIPOC voices, soul-building work and a much-needed rally cry.
Rally Cry | Media will feature an expert panel’s analysis of the state of media and a town hall discussion about valuing creative work at its true cost in ways that actually sustain people’s art practices. It will also serve as an opportunity for those invested in the future of Pollen to hear directly from the current team — our staff and our freelancers who have helped shape our work — on what we need in order to keep our doors open.
This event is about more than just inspiration or a conversation. Come ready to discuss real action for how to build the community you want.
The Rally Cry event series is part of Pollen’s signature soul-building work that happens when a room full of Pollenites gather around a thorny topic to tip the conversation into action. Through community conversation, problem-solving, and action, Rally Cry narrows in on how we truly make our region a #1 place to live, work, and succeed for all.
For detailed parking and transportation options, please visit the Minneapolis Institute of Art website.
Small bites and beverages will be served.
